Pray Worship Repeat. It’s an unusual name for a store that sells tees and thrifted home goods. We agree. But our name is more than that. Our name is an idea… a process… a lifestyle. And instead of boxing ourselves in, we wanted to start totally outside the box.
The Pray Worship Repeat lifestyle is rather simple...
Pray. Never stop praying, as it says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT. The best way to develop a relationship with someone is to talk with them… a lot. Same goes with God. Talk with Him… in brief moments throughout the day… in gatherings with other believers… in the quiet, private moments set aside for Him. Make prayer like oxygen you breathe in and breathe out continuously. But don’t forget, to get to know someone, you also need to listen, and sometimes we need to listen more than we speak.
Worship. To paraphrase John 4:23-24, the Father is looking for those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. It doesn’t say worship Him in church, worship him by singing this hymn or worship him by dancing like this. It doesn’t give us a set of rules for worshipping Father God except to worship Him in spirit and truth. Worship is not about the external action, it’s about our internal spirit, our hearts, in unison with the Holy Spirit within us. So if dancing aligns your spirit to God, then dance. If sitting in a church filled with stained glass windows brings your heart into alignment with God, then go there. Or maybe it’s when you’re serving others at the local homeless shelter. Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, if your spirit is connected with the Holy Spirit experiencing the glory of God, it’s worship.
Repeat. There’s nothing fancy or profound about this part. It’s simply a reminder to keep praying and worshiping. Always. In every circumstance. Forever. There should be no end to our prayer and our worship.
We strive to live this lifestyle every day because we know it brings us closer to God. We know it brings us joy. And peace. And comfort. And perseverance. And power… or as we like to spell it, PWR — Pray Worship Repeat.
